coming back here live you can see this is -- they have sat down now for a few minutes. we did hear they were talking about trying to exit this onramp en masse. they're also talking about a continuation of these demonstrations in the city tomorrow afternoon. we'll stay out here until we can check to see how things go but if you are drive into or out of san francisco you want to pay attention to how these demonstrations are affecting traffic. reporting live, abc7 news. >> thank you. the protesters quietly assembled and then quickly start marching towards the bridge. cornell bernard was the first on the scene and joins us live from downtown. cornell? >> we just talked to san francisco police. they say so far no arrests, no vandalism today. the protests certainly got the attention of lots of people drive neglect south of market area, traffic was a bit chaotic for most of the afternoon. protesters say their marches will continue.

she lives in vallejo. he son got a text from am an unnobody saying his mother had been kidnapped and would be hurt if money was not delivered. police are not saying how much was demand, just that it was less than six figures. the son drove to his mom's house and this is what he found. >> he found his mother was not there. there was a small dog that was in residence, and it was deceased. there appeared to be n signs of forced entry at the home. the victim was last seen bay coworker who dropped her off at seafood city market in vallejo on june 29th at 3:00 p.m. >> reporter: police were called in on july 1st. they had been working with fair field police, sacramento police, the fbi, and the u.s. marshal's office, and then last night, these four people were arrested. investigators believe the so-called ringleader is emanuel

espinosa and also the one police say is an acquaintance of the victim. espinosa was arrested in sacramento and none of the suspects are cooperating. all are being held in the solano county jail tonight. also for a motive police think it was all about the money and they're very worried about the well-being of this victim. >> thank you. another kidnapping case in vallejo made national headlines. police originally thought the kid naeping was a hoax but further investigate led to muller. the kidnapping trial is set to begin next january. still ahead at 6:00, a new sign at that time san francisco's housing boom has slowed down and could slow even further. plus, changes coming to a popular san francisco spot. that great news for pedestrians and bicyclists.

right now there are more new condos available to buy in san francisco than old previously used condos, and prices are starting to decline in some neighborhoods. real estate marketing firm reported there are now more than a thousand new condos on the market compared to 830 previously lived in condos, and 2500-under are in construction and 5700 more being planned. while condo prices increased 3% last year, some neighborhoods some prices dropped. visitors to twin peaks in san francisco will have a different way to get to to overlook. the mta will convert the eastern side of the street into a car-free zone. this wants to making a sees for pedestrians and bicyclists safer. the western side will become a

>> we have an update to a protest happening now at the fremont street offramp from the bay bridge in san francisco. "black lives matter" protesters are still blocking the freeway exit. the group has been there since 5:30. there are concerns the protesters may eventually try to get on to the bay bridge and the highway patrol formed a line of officers behind the group to prevent that from happening. today firefighter in oakland saved a kitten from a storm
